Congratulations on making it to the closing table! In this short video, Avatar Bob explains exactly what to expect during the final step of selling your home. We’ll cover everything from pre-signing your paperwork to handing over the keys and collecting your proceeds.
- Pre-Signing: Since COVID, buyers and sellers close separately, so you will actually pre-sign your paperwork a few days before the official date of closing.
- ID Required: Be sure to bring your driver’s license to your signing.
- Move-Out Expectations: The buyer will do a final walkthrough typically the day before closing, and the home must be completely empty of all personal property and debris by closing day.
- Keys & Remotes: Please leave any spare keys and garage remotes on the kitchen counter or in a drawer, while the primary key stays in the lockbox for the buyer’s agent.
- Your Proceeds: Once everything is officially complete on closing day, you can pick up your proceeds as a cashier’s check from the title company or have them wired directly to your bank account for a nominal fee.
Ready for your own roadmap?
There is a reason most of our business comes from word-of-mouth. We protect our clients fiercely and keep them informed every step of the way. If you aren’t a Beekeeper client yet but want this level of service for your next move in the Twin Cities, reach out today.
A Quick Note from the Hive: The roadmap above is a general overview of our proven selling process. Because every home, timeline, and market situation is entirely unique, the information provided here is for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal or financial advice, nor does reading it establish an official real estate agency relationship. Our signed clients receive fully customized timelines, proprietary staging advice, and detailed strategic guidance tailored to their exact property. (If your home is currently listed with another broker, this is not intended as a solicitation.)
